Bookaroo is a reading tracker that keeps your reading on your phone. No account, no server, no advertising.
If something is broken, it helps enormously to include:
There is a Diagnostics screen under Settings that records errors as they happen. If you can, open it and send what it shows — that is usually the difference between a bug being fixed and being guessed at.
Where is my reading stored?
In a file on your phone, and nowhere else. There is no account to create and no server of ours holding your library, which is also why we cannot look at it or recover it for you.
So how do I keep a copy?
Two ways, both under Backup in Settings:
Apps/Bookaroo —
and Bookaroo cannot see anything else in your Dropbox. What happens if I delete the app, or my phone dies?
Your reading goes with it. This is worth being blunt about: your phone’s own backup does not include your Bookaroo library, on either platform, so reinstalling will not bring it back. If your reading matters to you, connect Dropbox or export a file.
How do I move to a new phone?
Install Bookaroo, then Backup → Restore. Point it at your Dropbox or at an exported file and everything comes back — books, shelves, reading history, quotes and settings.
A book isn’t in the search.
